Hi Friends:
I just looked at the Alamo webcam at 1:30 AM Texas time and I swear it looked like the whole plaza area in front of the church is flooded. The river walk is very close to the Alamo. Has anyone heard anything or is what I saw just a reflection from lights?

Must have been an optical illusion, Bob. I checked this AM and all appeared well. Jim

In my part of Texas we received over 5 inches of rain in about 4 hours and that type of rain has been pretty common this weekend throughout most of Texas. So there may very well have been some flash flood conditions on the streets.

Thanks guys. The Shrine looks safe and sound.
I did notice on the webcam page it states there might be glare and difficulty seeing after dark. I forgot how the plaza in front of the church is paved in bricks. The lights and shadows must have made it appear as if the bricks were actually flowing water.

Flooding (at least from the river) at the Alamo would be pretty nigh onto impossible. The mission was built on a high bank. The modern river loop where the river walk is located is closed off on both ends of the horseshoe bend with gates that cause river changes to go straight past and preserve the level of the loop. So, it doesn't do much rising and falling.
