I just received an email from Amazon saying my order was shipped today -- with an estimated delivery date of 27 February. Funny, I had checked my account only a couple of hours before receiving the email and they were still expecting to ship it on the 3rd of March. Not that I'm complaining!

Got my confirmation on a March 3 delivery today. Great! Mark, get your pen ready. By the way, I am going to do my darndest to get to your March 6th. celebration. I'll have to leave after work and get there when I get there, so I'll get in touch somehow to find out where. Can't promise I'll make it but I'm gonna give it the old Pennsylvania try.

Hey fellows, Don't know how true this is, but I just heard from my editor that the book is now available at Barnes and Noble book stores. I'd advise calling before driving there, just to be sure they have it. Mark

My copy just arrived. Great job, Mark! It's going to be a day or so before I get to really sit down and study it, but on first skim-through I can report that the printing quality is very good (I can detect just the slightest grain in the color photos, but who cares?), and all the extras (plans and elevations, drawings recreating interiors and architectural details, etc.) are superb! I would remark that the paper is a little on the thin side, which argues for folks picking up an extra copy or two of the book, to have a fresh copy once you've worn out your first copy in a few years--and I guarantee you, you will get your money's worth out of this book whether you buy one of five copies.
Congratulations again, Mark!

;D I GOT IT!!! The note was in my P.O. box yesterday and I played hooky from Alamo Village so I could pick it up at our dumb post office this morning. Last night was like the Night before Christmas, so much was I in anticipation of it! It's really great -- everything I had hoped for. And yes, I was aware of the thinner paper too, but I assume that is what has enabled the relatively low price. I don't have a problem with any graininess in the pictures. It works for me. But then I'm a filmmaker who likes a little *soft* look. I particularly enjoyed Mark's and Craig's comments at the beginning. Now, go away so I can enjoy it!!!

Mine came today; a day earlier than Amazon estimated! A fantastic book. So far, my favorite views are the four from ground level that give an idea what the Mexican soldados were facing during the attack. It was fun comparing the view from the west with the same view by Sanchez Navarro. The scale was off on Sanchez Navarro's view and the heights of the walls were exaggerated but I thought they were remarkably similar.

You know, I had to actually fight to keep those ground-level views in the book, as my editor wanted to delete them. I told her that the overall views would be most helpful to Alamo students, who wanted to see the same view seen by the Mexican soldiers. I'm particualry glad that you like them, as now I see that my instincts were correct. Mark

I've just surfaced for air, been submerged in the book ever since I got it. This is a fantastic work - it certainly does advance our knowledge and set the research bar higher.
