I can recall that in the early part of the 20th century there was a bit a difference of thoughts and as a result, the top floor of the Long Barracks and the wall that connected it to the Alamo Church was leveled to just one story. From the Yard of Convent, there were some trenches dug in a line as well. It seems to me that the rocks/stone building materials were just tossed away (unless some of it was used to construct the walls in the convent and outer walls elsewhere. I know that from history parts of the plaza walls became the "Home Dept," for the city folks who would, "come and take it." Any thoughts about this? Thanks!
