I sorta wonder what the Alamo must have looked like at night. Given the cold weather there must have been assorted fires located here and there. Rooms may have had some sort of assortments of candles to give light but I wonder how many they had. The defenders would have had to be careful about having their night vision spared and kept away from any such light on the walls. Various Alamo Movies show some sort of assorted torches stuck into the interior walls giving light here and there. A little looking around by one may find a few paintings that show the Alamo at night. Looking over the Alamo Walls toward San Antonio and the surrounding Mexican Army would have seen a different use of a variety of lighted sources. Some of the Defenders looking towards the warm light of a public building must have given them certain feelings. I just toss out the idea of the Alamo at night and how it looked as a subject to consider. Takes thinkin on.

Candles, torches, cooking fires ... I suspect all were there. Interesting question, but some illumination would have been needed.
