The first Alamo Journal of the year (#168; April 2013) has been mailed to all Alamo Society members worldwide.
The new issue contains:
New York’s Gary Zaboly created the cover art, The Alamo on Fire, which depicts the Alamo church’s wooden ramp ablaze in the wake of Gen. Juan Andrade’s departure in the spring of 1836, as described by Dr. Joseph Barnard. Zaboly also wrote “Some Thoughts on the Cavalier Battery.”
New Mexico’s Jake Ivey contributes an extensive article titled “Fighting Over the North Wall.”
Texas’ Hal Cherry reports on “The Alamo’s Numismatic Collection.”
New York’s Phil Guarnieri offers “David Crockett: Formidable at the Alamo.”
Great Britain’s John Sizmur is featured in the “Membership Profile.”
There are additional entries, "Alamo News" and information about The Alamo Society 2013 Symposium which will be held March 2 at the historic Menger Hotel.
NOTE: Alamo Society members who have "crossed the line" prior to February 23 will receive half-off the general admission price, the new Alamo Society 2013 Symposium button (designed by Craig Covner), and a special courtesy viewing of Alamo...The Price of Freedom.
"Remember the Alamo!"
