Birdwatcher, I would suggest a little more searching on Internet for Republic of Texas re-enactors I know they have webpags and probably can direct you to the correct sutler store. Good luck.

The "gateway" sutler for many reenactors is Townsend and Sons: jas-townsend.com/index.php?cPath=1_4Although their clothing is not museum quality, and is designed for the mass market, it is reasonably authentic, and affordable. There are more historically accurate sutlers, but they are usually much more expensive. Many folks start with Townsend, and then upgrade as they become more knowledgable. One thing I'd very strongly suggest is to talk with members of the group(s) you're most interested in working with, to find out what their standards are, and if they have preferred sutlers.
