Thirty years ago today my old fishing hole in North Austin turned into a raging river that killed 13 people. Sometimes it's hard to imagine that things can change so quickly in the space of a few hours. Of course this flood wasn't as bad as some events in other states. Rest in peace neighbors. I was in Euless (Dallas area) early last September when the area flooded in the san of a few hours. No one died in it, but I never saw water rise so fast ... and recede so fast. Texas is a state f extremes, including rains and thunderstorms. Wild like the spirit of its people.
