Almost invariably, most books on the Texas revolution refer to Santa Anna learning his bloodthirsty ways because of his participation in the Medina battle of 1813. Did Sam Houston learn the same lesson at Horsebend Bend in 1814. As Andrew Jackson wrote " but the firing and the slaughter continued until it was suspended by the darkness of the night. It was dark before we finished killing them."
