Old Leslie didn't do too bad for the son of a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman...and in Holllywood to boot! His post-middle-age career revival was something many actors never experience.

Surely, "Forbidden Planet" must be regarded as one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time.

"Forbidden Planet" It ranks with the best of the early 1950's Sci-fi flicks. My Dad took me to see it on 42nd street. Each week on his day off we would take the subway from Brooklyn to Times Square and see such movies as War of the Worlds, Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, Them, The Thing, It Came from Beneath the Sea Invaders From Mars and others. But Leslie Nielson really nailed his part and was so convincing as the Captain, years before Shatner's Kirk. Now he too lies asleep in the arms of the Lord... Lou
