How many men actually defended the Alamo and who were they? Have some people been listed among the dead who actually were not there, or who may have died in other battles? Should any names be added to the roster?
Determining who fought there is related to the question of how many defenders there actually were. The answer depends partly on the number of reinforcements the Alamo received. While it is known that 32 men from Gonzales did get through to the Alamo, there is also a theory that more may have either made it into the fort, or were driven back while trying.
