The terms in the last paragraph read "puerta pr-alo" or something along that line. It is two words and the second word is obviously an abreviation as it has a long line over the word. It is the same both times it is used in the paragraph.
I hope that I can count on you all not to publish this as I am researching a book on the Mexican army in Texas 1835-1835 but I will give you my translation of the entire day of March 6 from the San Luis report. Once again, it is an old translation and I would have to clean it up to tranlate it. I agree that the number of dead and wounded match Andrade. There is little doubt in my mind that Andrade's numbers are correct or very close. Pena and Filisola used his numbers (be careful in Pena--you have to read the footnote and find the appendix that applies but he says Andrades numbers are correct).
Mar 6 at 5:35 in the morning the bugle rang by the order of the President General sounding the (tenalo convenid ?) (ap ?) that the four attack columns (diesen ?) the assault on the Alamo. The firing of the attack force lasted (dions ?) 90 minutes and by 8:30 in the morning no more enemies existed. At 10 in the morning the troops began a parade through Bexar and immediately after they began to go to gather the dead and wounded, numbering 230 on the enemy of the first type (dead?) and among those the ring leaders, Bowie, commander of the Alamo, Travis , second in command, and Crocket, who had entered the ranks three nights before, no wounded or prisoners. Of the Mexican troops the dead and wounded were 21 officers and 295 enlisted. The Battalion Activo dead Lt ag D Yrieneo Guerrero, Sub Lt. Sgt. 1o ag Don Antonio Carricarte, Sgt. 2o Anastascio Velasquerda of the 1a. , granaderos Victoriano Perez, Casadores: German Sanchez and Victoriano Tenorio, fusileros: Leonardo Ramos of the 2o Cornelio Rosalio of the 3o and Fransisco Ordas of the 4a. Wounded: Granaderos Felipe Santiago, and gastador Antonio Obiedo: 1st Company Sarg te 2o Manuel Vargas, Cpl. Mascedonio Rocha, Soldados Juan Ysidero Cruz, Jose Maria Avila, Paulin Morales, Valentin Pena, Nepomuceno Hernandez, Francisco Laredo, Lorenzo Martinez, Justo Castillo, Justo Martinez, Ygnacio Nunez, Francisco Rivera: 2a Serafin Puga, Jose S.tos Torres, Estevan Reyes, Francisco Martinez, Honiobono Zapata, Candelario Ramirez, Onofre Carrales, Vital Arias, Tiburcio Quebedo; 3a Cpl. Andres Arteaga, Soldados Jose M.a Martinez 2nd, Santanna Moctezuma, Vicente Galvan, Anastacio Vega, Fran.co Martinez, Jose Antonio Martinez, Alvino Vasquez, Luciano Cruz: 4a Soldados Manuel Chavez, Calistro Castro, Monico Lara: Casadores Mar. no Hernandez.
The corps that commenced the assault were the following: Battalions permanente, Zapadores, Aladama, Matamores, Jimenez, Activos Toluca, San Luis, the regiments of Delores, Presidiales, and pickets of the regiments of Tampico and Veracruz under the command of General Ramirez, who were keeping watch for hunting down stragglers, of which they killed 68. The first attack column under the command of Don Martin Perfecto Cos, was those seven companies of the Aldama and two of the San Luis: This was divided into three ( trazos? Lines?) , the first commanded by the General, the second by me, and the third by Romero first adjutant of the Aldama. The second column under the command of Col. Don Fransisco Duque: it’s companies—two cassadores and fusileros of Toluca, and 80 fusilaros of San Luis. The third column under the orders of Col. Jose Romero with the companies of fusilaros of Matamoros and Jimenez. The fourth under the command of Col. D. Juan Morales with the companies of casadores of Matamoros, Jimenez and San Luis. The reserve was composed of the companies of granadores of all the infantry corps and of the battalion Zapadores under the Command of the Gen. In chief. The first column attacked the side with a view toward Bejar. The second was opposite the (prale?) gate, the third that with a view to the camp of the cavalry, and the fourth the (prale?) gate with a view toward La Villita where the enemy dead were burned.
If anyone needs the original Spanish for any part of this let me know. It is hand written and My copy is not the best. Gregg
