I regret to inform everybody that the matriarch of Alamo Village and the Shahan HV Ranches, Virginia Webb Shahan, died last night.
Virginia had been in the hospital in San Antonio due to a broken femur resulting from a fall she had taken a few weeks ago in the house. She wanted to return home so much in spite of the prescribed long period of rehabilitation and other set-backs that the family finally agreed. EMT brought her home yesterday afternoon. She was quite exhausted, so the family asked us to postpone our visits after work. She died peacefully at ten o'clock last evening.
Tulisha (her daughter) e-mailed us this morning to add that, when they brought her in to her own bedroom yesterday, her words were, "It's about d**n time!"

While I didn't know her very well, she made quite an impression. When we visited Alamo Village, it was almost like Tulisha and her were making us welcome in their living room. I'll never forget how she told you, to take some time and really show Alamo Village to your friends, starting in Happy's office!
Please send our condolences to Tulisha! And Rich, all your friends want to wish you comfort and sympathy, also.

She served up the hotest chili I have every tasted. It is like a family member passed away.

Memorial services for Virginia will be at the First Baptist Church in Brackettville this Saturday morning at 11:00 A.M. For any who wish to send flowers, this would be the destination.
