An advance preview of sorts of this book is featured in the new (August) issue of The Crockett Chronicle: "David Crockett - Indian Defender." In the article, authors Allen Wiener and Jim Boylston provide documentation of Crockett's speech against the Jackson Administration's Indian Bill! The the co-authors provide some other interesting details, too.

Yes, he did, and was proud of it. Contrary to some speculation, he made no effort to conceal it either. I also believe that we have placed this event in broader and clearer context than previous discussions.

This is indeed an honor for our resident authors ( Jim, Allen and Bill Chemerka ), especially when some great writers never get invited to this annual Austin, TX event. Kudos to you guys. Here's a link to the festival website and their alphabetical author list. Jim is right below some fellow named Pseudonymous Bosch.
I can't wait for the ol' Book Fest and the Alamo Studies front page is even jumping about with excitement. ;D
