An advance preview of sorts of this book is featured in the new (August) issue of The Crockett Chronicle: "David Crockett - Indian Defender." In the article, authors Allen Wiener and Jim Boylston provide documentation of Crockett's speech against the Jackson Administration's Indian Bill! The the co-authors provide some other interesting details, too.

Allen and I believe we've finally put to rest the "did he or didn't he really deliver the Indian bill speech in congress" debate. He did. Jim

Yes, he did, and was proud of it. Contrary to some speculation, he made no effort to conceal it either. I also believe that we have placed this event in broader and clearer context than previous discussions.

This is indeed an honor for our resident authors ( Jim, Allen and Bill Chemerka ), especially when some great writers never get invited to this annual Austin, TX event. Kudos to you guys. Here's a link to the festival website and their alphabetical author list. Jim is right below some fellow named Pseudonymous Bosch. I can't wait for the ol' Book Fest and the Alamo Studies front page is even jumping about with excitement. ;D Texas Book Festival www.texasbookfestival.org/Attending Authors www.texasbookfestival.org/Authors.php
