Does anyone know the current DVD/Video status of two movies about Sam Houston? The two are "The First Texan", 1956, Allied Artists, starring Joel McCrea, and "Man Of Conquest", 1939, Republic Pictures, starring Richard Dix. Any information would be helpful.

The Intenet Movie Data Base (IMDB) shows no video releases of these films. It is possible to email Turner Classic Movies and request that they show films you want to see. www.tcm.com/support/AW

I found a guy online last year that was selling CDR copies of "Man of Conquest." If I can locate his email address, I'll post it. In the meantime, this one is available on ioffer: www.ioffer.com/search/items/%22man%20of%20conquest%22/text_pics/ioffer/0/falseI haven't purchased from this particular seller, but I've bought a number of things on ioffer. I can usually find CDRs of films/TV shows that are commercially unavailable. Sometimes the quality isn't perfect, but I look on the discs more as place holders until I can find better copies for the collection. Jim
