Yeah, I know, this is a dumb question, but one that has baffled me for some time. I searched around here but couldn't find any reference to it.
So, what is the "Karma" and attached number things in the post identifier box all about? Does it have to do with years of membership here, or something? Clearly some (most of y'all) have it, and some (me) don't.
I will sleep so much better knowing the answer to this mystery! ;D
Thanks, Paul

Paul, the whole "Karma" deal is a function that's built into boards hosted by ProBoards. It's kind of a "kudos" key. If you like someone's posts you can give them a nod (exalt), if you don't you can give them a thumbs down (smite). The ratings accumulate. I don't use the function, but some people seem to like it. The host board cooked up the "Karma" idea as a feel-good thing where you can let somebody know you like something they've done for the forum in a numerically visible manner. I've been known to hit the exalt button, but if I ever feel tempted to hit the smite button, it's time to quit.

Gotcha! I know some foums generate some sort of title with so many posts. I thought it might be something like that. I saw the exalt and smite buttons, but didn't know what they were.
I think I'm of the same mindset as Jim -- probably nothing I'd use. I'd rather just come right out and say, "Great post" in plain English. But if I ever feel the need to do the "karma" thing, at least I'll know how.
Thanks, as always.

Informative question you put forth there Bluesdog. For that I'm afraid that I'm gonna have to exalt thee and let the chips fall where they may.
