This should link you to the pictures I took in Bexar. Just click on the picture here, one I took at night and which I'm using as my computer desktop now. AW

AW, Now you're just being mean posting your pictures so that those of us who could not be there have to look at them and suffer the pain of knowing what we missed. ;-)
The night picture " alamo & long barracks by night" shot is really nice. In graduate school (about a thousand years ago) I learned that the best time to take "night" pictures of buildings in at dusk or twilight. The lights in the windows are on but there's still enough light to give some definition to the buildings without them disappearing into a large mass of black. In your picture the flash is doing that. I certain that you planned it that way, huh?
This is more a question for Mark Lemon. I see in the posted photos that the lucky people taking the tour are carrying large printouts of maps, etc. I would sure like to be able to see what is in that bunch of illustrations. Do you suppose they could be made available somehow, or tell us where we could find them ourselves? I'm sure that in the future people will be referring to items from them in the various threads. But mostly because it's driving me crazy that there is information that I know exists but can't get my hands on!

View of Mark Lemon's tour from the SW corner. Also, view many ASF members!

I was frustrated in my attempts to take decent night shots of the Alamo. Only that one looking over the long barracks looks good and I honestly don't know if I used a flash or not. The Alamo facade is very well lit at night and casts a golden glow over it, which my camera just didnt' capture. I was really impressed by its nighttime appearance and this was the first time I'd seen it by night. We were just coming up the steps from dinner on the Riverwalk, near the southwest corner location, when I looked up and saw the lit-up Alamo; it's really quite a site and I'm sorry I just didn't really capture it.
Yeah - that was a lucky shot of most ASF members - really a great bunch of guys who made the weekend very special.

Paul has very kindly cleaned up my night image of the Alamo, looking from over the long barracks. It looks so good that I decided to post it here. Thanks Paul! AW
