Last weekend I had occasion to swing by the Western Artists and Writers Symposium at the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, GA. Here, I met such luminaries as James Donovan, author of the new Custer book, Jeff Moray, Historical Cosultant to the film, "Tombstone," Allan Bara, well known author of a recent Wyatt Earp book, as well as Wall Street Journal writer, Jim Dunham, a certified "Gunfighter" and historical consultant, and others.(The odd thing is, they ALL knew Craig Covner, and sang his praises..."Speaks highly of a man...") Anyway, there was some talk about having an Alamo-type meeting there in the future, with Alamo-related artists and writers..sounds good to me, especially since the museum's about 20 minutes from my front door! In addition, I had talks with a high ranking museum official, who was very seriously interested in obtaining my Alamo model as a centerpiece for a proposed "Alamo Room," to be built in the new wing of the museum, and which will be completed in the Fall of 2009. Getting it out of my garage will be a relief, especially to my wife! Mark L.

Mark,
Did Allen Barra salivate all over your model? I think he had a hand in building an Alamo model some time back and is really into that stuff.
