Shoot! I thought I posted a thank you yesterday for bringing this report to my attention. Thanks, Jim. It was sad that the dig revealed no sign of the northern pyre, but it did provide me with the exact location of the Ludlow House which turned out to be the lot just west of the one on the Sanborn map that I had thought "might" be it. My placement of the pyre however is still within the realm of possibility. The Barnes article of 1911 said the pyre evidence started on the Ludlow property, which is how I placed it on the model and thus in my image on the Alameda thread. Relocating the boundaries of the Ludlow property to the west then placed my pyre outside the property line. However, my placement is exact with Pablo Diaz' estimate of 200 yards east of St. Joseph's and 50 to 60 yards north of the Alameda. This would be the N.W. end of the pyre.
