What someone with the resources: money, time and access, has to do is a thorough, analytical study of Alamo fiction. I was browsing Amazon and a few other sites and was amazed at the plethora of early Alamo fiction, many of which I had never heard of before ( not listed in Alamo Images for example), that is available, either published on demand or readily available. From my own research I know that Davy Crockett might have made his first appearance as a fictional character in an Alamo story in Benson Lossing's Fall of Bexar published in the summer of 1836, roughly the same time as Crockett's Exploits in Texas came out. There is no telling what Alamo myths or even real hidden facts might have arisen from these early fiction stories. Ken Mahoney
