Well folks, we're putting the finishing touches on the Alamo Studies Review and should be able to provide you all with a download link within the next couple of days, so be sure and stay tuned!
We're very proud of this effort, and especially grateful to all the writers who so generously contributed their time and work.
Here's a peek at the contents:
"In Memoriam: Kevin R. Young" by Lee Spencer White
"The Alamo and the Hill of Hysarlik: Myth and Legend" by David J. Penrod
"New Light on James Grant, Edward Edwards, and the Secret War for Texas" by Stuart Reid
"Authors In Conversation" James Donovan and Todd Hansen conduct a mutual interview
"The Essential Alamo Bookshelf" by Allen J. Wiener
"The North Wall Assault" by John Richardson
"Give My Love to Mother: The Crockett-Patton Marriage" by James Boylston
"José Reyes López’s “Relación” of the Officers of the Ejército de Operaciones Present in Béjar in March 1836" by Tom Kailbourn
As always, thanks to all our forum members for your contributions to the site's success. Five years and counting!

Wade - that's one of my favorite pieces in the Review. This is one of several excellent research efforts by Jim that have helped to lift long-standing misconceptions about Crockett, largely created in Shackford's book and repeated in most subsequent Crockett biographies, which relied too heavily on Shackford. Jim has also written pieces that established the credibility of much of the book "Sketches and eccentricities of Col. David Crockett," the fact that it was written by James Strange French (not Mathew St. Clair Clarke, as Shackford thought), and exposed the complete fabrication of the "Not Yours To Give" fictional story that continues to circulate on self-serving websites, despite efforts to post information revealing its bogus nature.
Glad you are enjoying the Review!

What a remarkable contribution to this site -- and my research library! Very well done by all -- and a fine tribute to Bruce Moses and the inimitable Kevin Young, friend and mentor.
