Have you guys checked the prices of fine press books lately? The cost is in line with those of similar books. It is not--and State House Press never intended it to be--a mass- market trade book. Recall also that the book is chockablock full of full color, high definition photographs. Those cost publishers a pretty penny. You might want to actually see the book before you start complaining about its price. Having been closely involved with the production of this book, I believe you will find that it provides good value for the money. Doc For the record, my comment wasn't a complaint, but merely an observation. It may very well be in line with similar fine press books, but it is a bit pricey and certainly is beyond what I am willing to pay for a book. For those who can afford it, I'm sure it will make a great addition to their libraries. Paul

There will be a book signing in San Antonio, but not at the Alamo. Details to be announced. I just saw the bound page proofs; they are stunning. Doc[/quote I hope to make it to his book signing.... I live in Brownsville, Texas. I hope he can do a book signing in Mcallen, Texas or even in Houston if I can't make it to San Antonio....

We're still hashing that out but it now looks like we'll have signings in Abilene, San Antonio, and Houston.
For you guys in the northeast, we'll also have one in New York City.

The trade edition has arrived at the offices of State House Press. The title is THE ALAMO AND BEYOND: A COLLECTOR'S JOURNEY.
It is stunning.
While the publication date is still March 15, interested parties may pre-order the volume at Amazon and save $39.32 off the list price.

Pinned down the locations but still working on dates. Right now it's looking like we will not be taking the show to New York after all.
We hoped that folks would see our advanced copies at Kings X over HHDs.
Teresa, what did you think of the book?

I received my copy of Phil's book today. It is very impressive. Phil, Gary Zaboly, and all involved at State House Press have done an extraordinary job.

My major complaint is that Gary's drawings are way to small. I emailed him about it and he said he was not happy with the sizes either. The birds eye view of the attack on the Alamo and the battle of San Jacinto would have been much better if printed larger. He felt the same.

I'm inside Barns and Noble and just found Collin's book tempting me in the Texana section. The photographs, Zaboly drawings, and text look great. With Christmas, New Year's Eve and the Fiscal Cliff fast approaching I'm debating it's purchase. Should I buy it???
