Wouldn't one of the ghost hunter shows pay a good fee to film a night at the Alamo? With all the stories you hear about ghost John Wayne ect I would bet it would be a site.

I don't think the Alamo would or has allowed anyone to do that. I' have wondered why they haven't been to San Antonio, in general. If any city is haunted, it is San Antonio. The Menger, The Crockett, The Gunther all have histories of hauntings. Alamo Plaza, the hotels close to it, the downtown area all have reported spirits. Reports of negative energy, restlessness, a heaviness mixed in with unexplained events. Something is not quite right there. The area has experienced horrific events, including the siege of the Alamo in 1836. It could be a series instead of one show.

There's a video on YouTube of one of Martin Leal's Alamo City Ghost Tours, and Steve Gonsalves from "Ghosthunters" is with him, although he doesn't say much.

I think History Channel (?) did a series on "Haunted History" of various cities and there was a program on San Antonio.

That "Haunted San Antonio" show is kind of fun. They do a dramatization of the old story of ghostly Alamo defenders stopping the tearing down of part of the compound. It was shot at Alamo Village, I think with some of the folks from SALHA.

I remember the one on the Travel or History Channel. I wrote down all the hotels mentioned, to make sure I didn't stay at one. I had my own experience at The Crockett and I love the Menger. I have often sat in the lobby, writing, but have not stayed there. Now that the Hotel Indigo is open at the Northwest wall of the compound, I have heard many stories from those who have stayed there as well as staff. I wouldn't stay there. I am sensitive about places and I can't stay in a place that sits where people experienced horror, anguish and death, especially in such large numbers.
Steve Gonsalves was at a workshop held at the Menger, as a speaker, but the show Ghosthunters hasn't been there. Maybe we should suggest it to them. Don't they have a group in San Antonio associated with them?

I wondered about the Indigo, given its location. Not familiar with many stories about the Crockett, but if you're sensitive, you could experience things most folks wouldn't.
A few weeks ago the crew from "Fact or Faked: The Paranormal Files" on SyFy discussed going to the Menger, but took up some other cases instead. Marian and I were disappointed. Hopefully they will go there one of these days.

My wife is very sensitive about things and places. When we visited there she saw and felt things that actually scared her. She said she really would not like to go back.

The show,Haunted History "San Antonio" on the travel channel ,showed the low barracks being haunted by dead texians. The low barracks which was still standing until after the civil war,was being used as a jail.Supposedly at night the prisoners were awakened and terrorized by the ghosts of the dead texians. The show also had a bit about the ghost of a Maid haunting her place of employment, the Menger Hotel after being murdered by her husband.

That's the show I saw on the travel channel: Haunted SA. My daughter recently rented an apartment about 4 1/2 miles from the Alamo, while she was working there. She is not sensitive, but loves the stories and watches all the shows. I stayed with her over the summer and had "concerns". I stayed by myself in November and experienced it even more. There is a power/substation close by and I wondered if that could cause it the way electrical surges do within homes...a paranoid feeling. Although I didn't feel paranoid, but did hear sounds. Have no idea what might have happened in that area, but again, but it adds to my overall feeling that things are not quite right in downtown San Antonio.
I wonder what keeps ghosthunter shows from looking at SA more closely. Top Chef wasn't deterred from bringing PeeWee Herman onto the grounds of the Alamo to film...although to me that is creepy. I can think of a better use of a historic site...perhaps treating it as a historic site. Those who are interested in history view ghost sighitings as a look back into the past, perhaps giving us a small glimpse of what was. Gettysburg is one place I believe has tried to balance the historians interest in ghosthunting as educational versus entertainment. There is much surrounding the Alamo which could be investigated. I want to ensure the Alamo is respected as a Historic Site. It's difficult enough to see Ripley's Haunted Adventure...in Travis's office. I have heard it is also haunted for real. Employees have heard voices, bits of conversations where Travis would have been. I hope he is haunting Ripleys.
