Okay, okay ... selfless promotion here, but I've been playing around with creating a web site for my band of aging blues guys and rockers over the past week, and so far have come up with this: www.RockinRoadDogs.comLet me know what y'all think. It's still a work in progress, as they say, and I have to smooth a few things over. Paul

Three men and a dog. Sounds like trouble or a movie title. Great rockin,' blusey music though.

Very nice, Paul; enjoyed the video and several of the songs on your playlist. Really liked your covers of Holly's "It's So Easy" and Gerry & Pacemakers "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying." Blues stuff is very nice.

Thanks, Allen. The covers were actually done a few years ago but remain mainstays in our sets. What I like about the covers, and especially "It's So Easy", "Ramblin'", and "I'm A King Bee" is their raw energy. Not a lot of studio polish on those. But even the newer stuff preserves a very "live" sound, I think.
My wife will be happy to hear you singled out the Gerry & the Pacemaker's tune. "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying" has been "our" very special song since we started dating 38 years ago.
Thanks again for taking time to have a listen and leaving some comments.
Paul

Great Stuff Paul: As a former garage band rocker (1964 - 1973) I really think you capture the blues sounds that made us the greatest music generation. I too loved your Gerry and the Pacemakers tune. My bands covered "Ferry Cross the Mersey" and it was a crowd pleaser throughout my brief career in several bands. Keep it up! Lou Wish I could find some old rockers on Long Island who would like to jam.

I'm sure of you look around, you could find a few like-minded souls. I used Craig's List and landed a great drummer and keyboard guy for this band. Paul

Good rockin' stuff, Paul--got that organic mix of programming that is real bandstand music for moving a room.
But something seems amiss with the "I'm a King Bee" link--I got "It's So Easy" instead, which I don't mind hearing twice, but you might wanna check on that--

Thanks for linking that up, Paul--I gave it a listen and that is a rambunctious cover, especially the guitar line, gonna recommend that to a friend if you don't mind being influential Reminds me how much I want to do the Muddy Waters version. I've never met a bass player who was keen to do that or the original--just amazes me that they're not itching to do that original bass part. That song is not beat to death in Houston; in fact, I'm having trouble remembering if I've ever seen anyone do it live here.

I haven't seen anyone do it live, except me. lol
It's funny, but a bass buddy of mine up in Maine and I have been doing "King Bee" since the early '90s. We also do Muddy's version of "Baby, Please Don't Go" and he follows my guitar riff note-for-note on the bass. Except for him, I can't seem to get anybody else on board with that version -- they all want to do the Amboy Dukes/Ted Nugent or Them/Van Morrison version of it, which I don't like to play.
