My Rangers shut out the Tigers today, beating Justin Verlander - who ain't no slouch! Their 9-1 record is the Rangers best start since 1989. The bottom three starters are 6-0 in their two starts each.

It's early days, as someone once said, but the Rangers look for all the world to me as a team that will have to be reckoned with.

Then there is our hapless Red Sox get pasted by the almost as lowly Rays. Of course Boston threw Abbot and Costello, er, I mean Dice-K and Wakefield at Tampa Bay. Should they expect not to get creamed?

Another evening of batting practice by the anemic pitching staff. Geez; 20 hits to a team that truly stinks.

You're correct, Allen - it is early, but we long-suffering Rangers fans get excited over any winning streak. My wife and I attended the first-ever Rangers home game in 1972, and last season's World Series appearance was a dream-come-true.

"Let's go, Ran-gers ..... Let's go, Ran-gers .... Let's go, Ran-gers .... "
Good grief, almost two weeks into the season and the Red Sox are mathematically eliminated already? lol
