Great concept. I've often wondered this myself. I'm glad you left an indication of the current church facade for perspective.

At one point there was some discussion about the similarity of the Alamo church with the church of the Mission Nuestra Senora de La Purisima Concepcion. Taking photos from the Library of Congress HABS site I did a little cutting and pasting. In this one I placed the two bell towers from the Mission Concepcion onto the Mission de Valero church. I left the "hump" because I didn't know what else to replace it with. In this picture I took the front of the Mission Valero and placed it on the front of the Mission Concepcion church. The roof line gives it a different look. I can't recall how I attempted to scale them so don't assume that sizes match up between the two photos. This is just speculation anyway, to get some idea of how it MIGHT have, or COULD have looked if the Alamo church had two bell towers. - References - Library of Congress HABS sitememory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/habs_haer/index.htmlMission Valero Photomemory.loc.gov/cgi-bin/displayPhoto.pl?path=/pnp/habshaer/tx/tx0000/tx0035/photos&topImages=154917pr.jpg&topLinks=154917pv.jpg,154917pu.tif&title=16.%20%20Historic%20American%20Buildings%20Survey,%20W.%20Eugene%20George%20Jr.,%20Photographer%20July,%201961%20WEST%20ELEVATION.%3Cbr%3EHABS%20TEX,15-SANT,15-16&displayProfile=0 Mission Concepcion photomemory.loc.gov/cgi-bin/displayPhoto.pl?path=/pnp/habshaer/tx/tx0000/tx0038/photos&topImages=155569pr.jpg&topLinks=155569pv.jpg,155569pu.tif&title=9.%20%20Historic%20American%20Buildings%20Survey,%20Arthur%20W.%20Stewart,%20Photographer,%20April%2010,%201936%20FRONT%20ENTRANCE%20%28WEST%20ELEVATION%29.%3Cbr%3EHABS%20TEX,15-SANT.V,1-9&displayProfile=0 - Paul Meske, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin

Great job, cantador4u! This is how I´ve read it was supposed to look like had they finished building it, with a tower on each side of the church facade. Well done!

Certainly, the model and lower photo give a very plausible view of how it might look if it had been completed.
