The reconstructed barracks of Fort Washita, Choctaw Nation, Oklahoma, burned down this weekend. This was one of the better 1840's sites and many of the best Mexican & Civil War living history programs were done here over the years... www.kten.com/Global/story.asp?S=13219394&nav=menu410_2

That is a shame. Looks like the park folks aren't sure if it will even be rebuilt.

Let me show my total ignorance here and ask if this place was in any way associated with the Custer attack on the Cheyenne on the Washita? In any case, I'm sorry to hear about it.
