I am far from a De la Pena letters expert but after the Millsapps letter was deemed to be a forgery I do not accept any of these accounts especially when they come to light so late in the story.......My own feeling is that after being given the NO QUARTER order the Mexican soldiers were whipped into a blood lust frenzy......killing unarmed young boys .How can it be that a full grown man like Crockett and men could have survived such slaughter.?..........It was said that after the battle there was not enough live bodies to satisfy the Mexicans blood lust ...so they repeatedly baynoted dead bodies. So my point is Crockett went down fighting.
