For anyone planning on stopping by the Texas Book Festival in Austin this weekend, Allen and I have had a time change for our presentation. We'll be presenting at 2PM on Sunday rather than 3PM. We're in room E2.016 in the Capitol Extension Building. We'll be signing books in the Bright Sky Press tent earlier in the day, and in the Barnes and Noble tent following our presentation. Be sure to stop by and say hello if you're in attendance! Jim

It's a long drive from South Austin, but I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. I've gotta pace my book buying, but I'll definitely get this one and try to catch the lecture at the lectern.

Well, I'm always there. It should be a really good show. Will you be speaking on Sunday, Allen? The Statesman promo only lists Jim on the ticket. Two Crock heads are better than one.

Wish I could make it, but on assignment in Kansas City through the end of this week, and drive back to Dallas Saturday, just in time to turn around and fly to Boston Sunday. Hopefully "next time". I already have blocked off time for the HHD period next year, though.

Allen will be there too. He's presenting on both days. Saturday he and Bill Chemerka are presenting "Music of the Alamo," and Sunday he and I are giving the Crockett presentation. Look forward to seeing you again, RR! Jim

Next time, Paul. I know how it is with work. I'm leaving Austin for San Diego myself. Hopefully I'll make the HHDs next year too. Jim

RR -- As Jim says, I'll be there for both presentations. Sometimes, when there are 2 authors, only one is listed and authors are always listed alphabetically. It is my karma anyway; same reason I was always seated in the back of the classroom as a kid, since they seated us alphabetically. Bill and I are on at the Music Tent at noon on Saturday with "Music of the Alamo"; Jim and I are presenting "David Crockett in Congress" on Sunday as per Jim's message above. We'll be doing book signings immediately after each presentation.
Looking forward to seeing you!!
Allen

As promised I attended the TX Book Fest and had a really good time even though it was really crowded. I saw Bill Chemerka and Allen at their booth, displaying the Alamo music book. The Crockett in Congress tome was next door, but when I visited, Jim was off wandering around the festival. I had a long and interesting talk with Allen and later ran into Steve Harrigan as he was sneaking out of the old Capitol. I showed off Jim and Allen's book and he was impressed by it's size. It was a nice event and I came away with a tote bag full of books.
