" David Crockett in Congress: The Rise and Fall of the Poor Man's Friend" is now available for pre-order on Amazon. tiny.cc/LARqmAn in depth study of Crockett's congressional career, "David Crockett in Congress" also includes the first comprehensive collection of Crockett's correspondence ever published (with annotations), and a selection of the Colonel's speeches and circulars. Pay no attention to the page count, the book is still in press. Allen and I will post more information soon. Thanks for all your support! Jim

Jim,
Please keep us posted. I for one am looking forward to reading it. Too bad it's not already out so it could help my Adam Huntsman research!

I look forward to this---sounds like a unique contribution to Alamo lore, and even to frontier and Washington political history.

The book has been a real labor of love and we think it fills a gap in Crockett studies. Now, if Amazon will get the real cover up and correct some errors in their product description ("John B. Shackord" instead of "James A. Shackford," for example) Allen and I will breathe a little easier. Jim

I'm a little hesitant to tattle, but you might say I've had a detailed look at the entire book, and it is going to open many eyes to seeing Crockett in a new and vastly clearer light. It's the real deal, folks!

That's what I like to hear, trk!
Jim and Allen, I cannot wait to read your book. I have yet to place a pre-order, but will do so very soon (within the next week or two). I am confident that the book will not dissapoint and will become a must in every Alamo & Crockett library. Crockett's time in Congress has been an interesting topic of focus for me in preparation for my own graphic novel and I believe your book will shed very important light on the poor man's friend. May I thank you both in advance for your time and research into this very important topic.
All the best, Wade

Thanks Wade; we appreciate your support. We honestly hope that readers will come away with an improved image of Crockett and a better understanding of who he was. For your own art work, you should find the collection of all of Crockett's portrait from life of special interest.
