I was looking for information on a Kentucky ranger ancestor, who fought against Shawnee chiefsTecumseh and Blue Jacket, when I stumbled across this useful link. wardepartmentpapers.org/index.php

Some more helpful links if there's any researchers out there. The 1835 Texas Census is particularly interesting. I found General Thomas J. Rusk listed as a laborer. He fell on hard times in 1834, but sure rose up in the space of a year. I'm sure two of his slaves Aquilla and Scipio did most of the hard work. www.censusdiggins.com/gentips.htmlwww.censusfinder.com/texas.htm

This great media link might be well-known to others, but it's new to me. It has links to hundreds of state city newspapers, college newspapers, state magazines, radio stations, t.v. stations, etc., etc. databases, all at the click of a button. I imagine it would be good for some speed research. www.usnpl.com/
