Hi all,
I am new to the forum and still pretty new to Texas (2 years) I am looking for some information and pretty sure someone on this site can advise ? I was born (in the UK) the same year as John Wayne's Alamo was made, I remember my dad taking me to the cinema (must have been 5 or 6 maybe) to see the film. I have been engrossed in the history ever since. I have visited the Alamo several times, each time learning more and more. But I would like to visit the original set at the Alamo village (this coming labor day weekend ?). I know the village has been shut for some time but was wondering if anyone had a contact/name/number/email address where I could request permission to visit ?
My old man is now 87 and still lives in the UK but would love to send him a photo of the chapel door that "Big John” as my dad called him got pinned to at the end of the movie !!!
I am excited at the wealth of information available on this forum, it really is a gold mine !!!!.
if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
Steve
