Does anyone have a clear transcript, that they are willing to share, of Reuben Potter's handwritten notes from a very rare copy of his 1860 version of Fall of the Alamo. Thanks. Ken Mahoney

Ken, I have the 1860 Potter but wasn't aware of any handwritten notes circulating. Where did you hear of them?

They were apparently appended to a copy of the pamphlet that sold at auction a couple of years ago.

The sound you just heard was my project to do a fully annotated 1860 Potter going down the drain...oh well.
I hope the eventual buyer arranges to have it reprinted with notes included. That would be tremendous.

I recently transcribed the 1860 Reuben Potter onto a Word Document (minus the Alamo map but including his published notes.) If any ASF members would like a copy, PM me and I will send one to you.

I was under the false impression that one could attach a file to a PM. Just found out you can't. So here is plan B, the 1860 Potter account is attached to this post. You should be able to save a copy this way.Attachments:

I thought you had the hand written notes. Oh well, we will just have to wait until some generous donor makes them available. Ken

I sent a copy of the 1860 Potter to someone this afternoon and found a typo that evaded both spellcheck and my own eye. Here is the pertinent paragraph with the correct word italicized.
The aforementioned battalion, which I counted, numbered three hundred and fifty odd men. The Regiment of Dragoons was of about the same size, and the whole made nine hundred or a thousand.

Hiram-the 1860 edition in question has Potters notes/corrections for the 1870 edition.
